In addition to receiving accolades from Philadelphia Weekly as the company with the "Best Production (Play) of 2009-10," BRAT Productions has also been nominated for 2 Barrymore Awards this season. Although Haunted Poe garnered the bulk of attention this year—with a company-record 5000+ tickets sold and features in over 110 media outlets—A 24-Hour The Bald Soprano was the show that Barrymore judges found the most deserving of recognition for excellence in theatre. Our signature production of round-the-clock mental endurance and audience participation has been nominated for "Best Ensemble" and "Outstanding Direction of a Play." Other small companies such as Azuka Theatre, Gas & Electric Arts and 11th Hour Theatre Company also received nominations in other categories. The full press release of the Theatre Alliance can be viewed HERE. The awards ceremony is slated for October 4 at the Walnut Street Theatre. Congratulations to our amazing ensemble—Krista Apple, Jake Blouch, Jess Conda, Victoria Frings, Nathan Holt and Bradley Wrenn—and to our visionary director, Madi Distefano!
