"As the 2009-10 theater season comes to a close," J. Cooper Robb writes in the July 7-13 issue of Philadelphia Weekly, "Philadelphia confirms its status as a city with one of the most vibrant theater scenes in the country."

Robb says that "audiences were treated to selections of unusually high quality" in the 2009-10 season. Smaller companies receiving high praise include 11th Hour (Little Shop of Horrors), EgoPo (Company), Gas & Electric Arts (Cabinet of Wonders), Swim Pony (Survive!) and Brat Productions. Brat's Haunted Poe—"the season’s wildest ride," according to Robb, was named the "Best Production (Play)" of the year, while Alisa Sickora Kleckner's evocative ghouls and lost souls were recognized as "Best Costume Design."
