SPILLING THE TEA
The "dot org" story of Daniel Barassi's BRAT Productions
BRAT Productions started in December 1982, with a Fisher cassette deck and a dream.
By 1990, I was doing remixes that were airing on KROQ.
By 1994, I was getting my remixes released.
It is now 2026. My production company is still here, strong as ever. But...there's been one truly annoying issue...
An acting troupe in Philadelphia has been using my production company name since 1996. No permission was ever given. They just fucking took the name.
They also had bratproductions.org.
Years of weird Google results. Weird emails from confused people looking for tickets to plays, or trying to collect money owed them. Phone calls from Philadelphia organizations.
Annoying. Until 2017.
In 2017, time did what my attorney could not. The Philadelphia name thieves closed down their company.
But then, before I could get the URL, a domain squatter snapped up the site and put a Norwegian banking blog on the “.org” URL!
Nine years, a lot of money, and some sketchy domain brokers later, I now rightfully own this domain!
Now, after decades of battling, some might say “Daniel. It's over. You have the domain. Just have it redirect to bratproductions.com.”
Well, yeah, but you have to remember...
I am a petty mother fucker!
I am stubborn enough to wait for THIRTY YEARS to get satisfaction!
Ok.
Rant over.
Head over to
the ONE and ONLY BRAT Productions.
Enjoy decades of remixes, video and more.
